Valerio Lo Muzio

Born in Foggia in 1990, he is currently living in Bologna. As a professional journalist, he has collaborated over the years with La Repubblica, La 7, Il Fatto Quotidiano, Daily Mirror, Internazionale, and Corriere della Sera. He received an honorable mention at the Pio La Torre Award in 2019 and the Articolo 21 “Liberi di” Journalism Award in 2021. In 2021, he was honored with the Oliviero Beha Award as the Best Emerging Journalist of Emilia Romagna. After leaving journalism, he became a partner at the production company Fase 3. He is the co-author and co-director of the documentary Il Gioco di Silvia (produced by Articolture), which premiered at the Biografilm Festival in 2022. He is the author and co-director of the documentary Romina (produced by Fase 3), which won three awards at the Biografilm Festival 2024 (Special Mention BPER | Biografilm Italia 2024, DocPoint Helsinki Prize | Biografilm Italia 2024, and Audience Award | Biografilm Italia 2024). The documentary also won the Best Direction Award at the Glocal Doc Festival 2024, the Audience Award and Best Documentary Award at Documentaria 2024 - Visioni Doc Italia Section, and the Best Documentary Award at the Mente Locale Festival - Visions of the Territory 2024, International Competition Section.
