Luigi Scarpa

Director – Fimmaker – Producer. Luigi has been working in the audiovisual sector since 2007, after studying cinema theater and television at the University of Milan. He graduated with highest honors, presenting as his final project a study, in the field of animation cinema, related to Zagreb Film and later published in Hrvatski filmski ljetopis. He is trained in the field of corporate videos, moving from documentaries to guerrilla marketing films, to involvement in fashion and lifestyle television programs. He is a member of AIR3, Italian Directors Association, and his activity is mainly related to the cinematographic sphere of genre cinema. In the advertising sector, he specializes in so-called “black humor,” stories with a seemingly horror slant that actually lead to an ironic conclusion, far from macabre, which further strengthen the link with the product due to functional staging. This communication mode has been adopted over the years by major global brands: from Audi to Ikea, via Nike and Duracell. At the same time, his complete and functional background, also leads him to deal with social commercials, with a totally different style, such as MIOMITO’s social campaign for MediaFriends. He also directed 3 short films, which have been presented and awarded at major film festivals, national and international: he wins the Best Director award at the prestigious Motor City Nightmares in Michigan, USA. Internationally, he developed and directed a spot that was a finalist at the prestigious Shriekfest Horror Festival in Los Angeles, and in 2023 he won Best Promo for a spot developed and directed as part of the Crimson Screen Horror Film Fest, a very important festival reality in South Carolina.
