Federico "Fred" Cavallini is an Italian director and musician, class 1988. Fred is a storyteller at heart. After earning a degree in Italian Literature and Arts, he found himself intrigued by moving images and performing arts, he strived to transfer the power words have on paper into visions and visuals. “I think there is just one fundamental skill in directing: the ability of being surprised. Potentially, by everything and everyone. “ He directed commercials, corporate , short films, documentaries and music videos, always pinpointing his personal voice. “I enjoy different genres of narration: Comedy, Emotional, Documentary, Mocumentary, Branded Content and Action. Nonetheless, I’m always up for a challenge and trying to expand my horizons” In 2017, he caught the attention of FilmMaster, winning a competition for the research of a new young director. In the same year, his short-doc Iron Roots, won the “Best Cinematography” in Top Indie Film Awards. In 2018 he joined AIR3. His latest short film "Il Confessore" (2022), co-directed and produced through the support of AIR3, is currently in distribution with Premiere Film in various national and international festivals and included into the Clermont Ferrand Market 2023. Fred is always on the lookout of somethings new to discover, somethings new to tell.
