Hello, my name is Federico Cavallini, but you can call me Fred. I’m an Italian director, editor and screenwriter based in Milan. I have over a decade of experience in the film industry, and I’ve directed TV commercials, documentaries, short films, branded content and corporate videos, always striving to incorporate my personal voice into every project. After graduating in Literature and Arts at the Catholic University of Milan, I completed my education between London and Milan, where I attended the IPM Master in Audiovisual Conception and Production at ALMED (Alta Scuola di Media). I started my career as a video editor in Mediast s.p.a., then I caught the attention of FilmMaster, a well-known Milanese production company, by winning a contest to find emerging directors. From there, my career in directing began. I'm a storyteller at heart, and I enjoy working across various genres, including Comedy, Emotional, Drama, Documentary, Mocumentary, Branded Content and Action. I believe there’s one fundamental skill in directing: the ability to be surprised, potentially by anything and anyone, and my priority is to translate the power of ideas into compelling visuals. Since 2018, I have been part of AIR3 - Associazione Italiana Registi. In 2022, my short film Il Confessore, distributed by Premiere Film, received awards at various festivals and was selected a the Clermont-Ferrand Market and the Figari Film Market. Alongside my career as a director, I am involved in screenwriting and music projects. I’m constantly on the lookout for new stories to tell, new exciting projects to be involved in.
