Manu Gerosa

Manu Gerosa was born in 1975 in Rovereto in Italy; he graduates in Contemporary History at the University of Bologna in Italy in 2001 and the same year he moves to Spain where he begins working as director and editor on TV programs. In 2006 he moves back to Italy and he starts working in Milan on documentaries, commercials and TV programs but his passion for storytelling and human relationships brings him to focus his work mainly on Creative Documentaries and Corporate Videos or Social Campaigns for NGOs. In 2010 he finishes his first medium length documentary Kamenge Northern Quarters which has won 3 international awards and among them the "Silver Audience Award" at the Amnesty International Film Festival in Canada. In 2012 he finishes his second medium-length documentary Lion Souls winner of the "Jury Prize in the Documentaries Competition" at Ismailia International Film Festival in Egypt. In 2015 he completes his first feature documentary Between Sisters; the film has been premiered in Italy at 56° Festival dei Popoli in December 2015 and it had its international premiere at the True/False Film Festival in the US in March 2016. Between Sisters has won the award Cinema AMoRe at Trento Film Festival (2016 - Italy), the award "Best Film" at Ismailia International Film Festival (2016 - Egypt) and the award "Best Film" given by EFCA - Egyptian Film Critics Association (2016 - Egypt). Actually Manu is working at his new project called One More Jump; The project has been presented this year at the MeetMarket of Sheffield Doc Fest (UK) and it has won the When East Meets West Award at the workshop ESoDoc.
